Job summary

Holtec International in Camden, NJ, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to develop, modify, and validate CNC programs for high‑precision components. You will translate designs into efficient programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, and other CAD/CAM tools, ensuring quality, safety, and on‑time production.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Shop staff to optimize toolpaths, select tooling, and support setup, qualification, and process improvements in a heavy manufacturing

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam and/or GibbsCAM.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hands-on CNC machining in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T requirements.
• Strong knowledge of heavy machining processes: milling, turning, drilling, boring, multi-axis.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM and nesting software: Mastercam, GibbsCAM, SigmaNEST, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot G-code and M-code; understand tooling and fixturing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, blueprints, specs, and GD&T to determine machining methods.
• Develop, modify, validate, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam, GibbsCAM, and other CAD/CAM software.
• Generate efficient toolpaths with proper speeds and feeds for productivity and quality.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding for complex operations.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Shop personnel to support setup and validation.
• Plan, coordinate, and support projects from development to production.
• Monitor operations, verify program performance, and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Troubleshoot programming issues and manufacturing defects; implement corrective actions.
• Revise and release updated CNC programs in response to changes.
• Evaluate new tooling and strategies to reduce cycle times.
• Provide guidance to operators on program execution and quality requirements.
• Support cross-functional teams and report to CNC Programming Manager.
• Develop programs for components, assemblies, and fabricated parts.
• Create optimized strategies for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining.
