Job summary

Precision Castparts in Valencia, CA is seeking a hands-on CNC Programming Engineer to develop, optimize, and support CNC machining processes for large aerospace structures. You will bridge engineering and manufacturing by translating designs into safe, repeatable machining solutions.

You will create CAM programs, select tooling, document processes, and lead prove-outs on the shop floor, collaborating with machinists and quality engineers to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent CNC experience.
• 5+ years of experience in CNC programming, manufacturing engineering, or precision machining.
• Strong experience developing CNC programs using CATIA CAM.
• Advanced understanding of multi-axis CNC machining, aerospace structural machining, GD&T, and tooling selection.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain CNC programs for production of large structure aerospace components.
• Create CAM programs, toolpaths, setup documentation, and supporting manufacturing instructions from engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Develop robust machining processes for large aerospace components, including monolithic structures and frames.
• Support CNC program prove-outs and first-piece machining on the factory floor.
• Troubleshoot tooling, toolpaths, workholding, and machine capability issues to meet quality and cycle-time goals.
• Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering to standardize processes and documentation.
