Job summary

Baker Engineering, LLC, a division of Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, seeks a Quality Process Engineer in Muskegon, MI. The role combines quality and manufacturing engineering to improve conformance, efficiency, and throughput while working cross-functionally with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, customers, and suppliers.

You will develop inspection plans, perform FAIs and PPAPs, lead root cause analysis, monitor Cp/Cpk and SPC, ensure ISO 9001 and AS9100, and train operators

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling and turning (preferably multi‑axis).
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Hands‑on experience with precision metrology tools and measurement systems.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, SPC, and corrective action methods.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and controlled manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in Muskegon, MI and pass a background check.
• United States citizenship required by contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality inspection plans for CNC‑machined parts, including gauges and measurement systems.
• Perform and document FAIs, PPAPs, and control plans to meet customer and industry requirements.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for nonconformances.
• Monitor and improve process capability using Cp, Cpk, SPC, and other methods.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliance and support audits.
• Train operators and technicians on quality requirements, inspection techniques, and defect prevention.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework while improving throughput.
• Support process automation and continuous improvement projects.
