Job summary

Baker Engineering, LLC, a division of Waséyabek Development Company, is seeking a CMM Programmer in Muskegon, MI. The role focuses on operating and programming CMM equipment to inspect parts and assemblies, ensuring conformance to GD&T and engineering drawings.

You will work with PC-DMIS, Calypso, and other metrology tools, generate inspection reports, and collaborate with quality engineers, machinists, and production staff to drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming CMM equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology.
• Proficiency in CMM software (PC-DMIS preferred, Calypso, etc.).
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Must align with Baker’s organizational culture and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS.
• Operate and program measurement machines (Keyence IM series).
• Inspect and measure components to ensure they meet drawings and specs.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and other technical drawings.
• Generate and maintain detailed inspection reports.
• Calibrate measuring instruments and maintain CMM equipment.
• Communicate inspection results with engineering and production teams.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
