Job summary

Baker Engineering, LLC is seeking a CMM Technician to operate and program CMM equipment for dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies.

You will interpret blueprints and GD&T, generate inspection reports, calibrate instruments, and collaborate with engineers, production, and machinists.

This role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to train others, with a focus on quality and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and programming CMM equipment.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and metrology.
• Proficiency in CMM software (PC-DMIS preferred, Calypso, etc.).
• Experience with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS.
• Operate and program Keyence IM series measurement machines.
• Inspect and measure components to ensure they meet engineering drawings and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T and other technical drawings.
• Generate and maintain detailed inspection reports.
• Calibrate measuring instruments and ensure proper maintenance of CMM equipment.
• Communicate inspection results and quality issues with engineering and production teams.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
• Maintain records in accordance with quality management systems.
• Train other technicians or staff in the use of CMM equipment, if needed.
