Job summary

MetaOption LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer / Estimator to collaborate with machinists, engineers and managers, ensuring production moves smoothly while meeting quality standards. You will work on aerospace/machining projects, review specs, coordinate with design/quality, and optimize production sequencing with the scheduler.

You will develop and optimize CNC programs, setups, and tooling, lead a shop-floor team, create work instructions, and support quoting for complex aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience required.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with heavy CNC machining/programming; 10+ years can substitute for degree.
• Hands-on experience in a machine shop with CNC mills, lathes, EDM, or grinding.
• Experience with CAD/CAM tools NX, Mastercam, Espirit, Mazatrol is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, test and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM technology and simulation (Vericut).
• Describe setups for tooling machines and position/secure workpieces and tools.
• Provide updated CNC programs, posted code, setup docs, and tooling info for CNC operations.
• Lead a manufacturing team through shop-floor execution and prove-outs for production release.
• Create and approve final work instructions for development and production hardware.
• Generate estimates for new hardware and enter into the quoting system.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing meetings and resolve process issues.
• Support production by answering questions and resolving non-conformances; drive lean improvements.
