Job description

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing engineer that will be interacting with machinists, engineers, supervisors, and managers to keep production moving while ensuring products meet Everfab quality standards. Partner with machinists to answer questions and address any issues that arise during the machining of highly complex Aerospace components. Reviewing specifications and issues with design/quality engineering to resolve questions and product deviations. Working with the scheduler to maintain the optimal production sequence of jobs. Support quoting efforts and prepare first pass processing methods of highly complex Aerospace components.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, test (simulates), and optimize CNC programs of numeric controlled tooling machinery, by using CAD/CAM technology and methodology. Check completed programs by running simulations or tests on Vericut.
  • Develop, determine, and describe the setups of the tooling machines (how to position and fix the workpiece and the tool in relation to the machine axes).
  • Provide up-to-date CNC programs, posted code (manuscript), set‑up documentation, and tooling information (tool list, tool offset values, etc.) for CNC machined operations.
  • Lead a Manufacturing team for successful execution of a product through the shop (both preparedness and in process support of shop floor execution). This includes running prove‑outs on the machine floor to validate the process and get ready for production release.
  • Create and approve final work instructions for development and production hardware.
  • Generate estimates for new hardware and enter into the quoting system.
  • Participate and or lead Design for Manufacturing meetings.
  • Support production activities by getting answers to process questions and working through established processes to resolve product non‑conformance issues.
  • Implement lean process improvements activities to meet schedule and cost targets.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or an associate's degree with direct experience is required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy CNC machining/programming. 10 or more years of Manufacturing Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment while possessing intimate solid understanding of manual machine methods (tool selection, speeds, feeds, HP).
  • Hands on experience running CNC Mills, Lathes, EDM, or Grinding equipment.
  • Understanding the impact of programmed tool path, therefore proven experience machining parts from start to finish using manual turning and milling operations is highly desirable.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM technology and methodology specifically NX, Mastercam, Espirit, and Mazatrol.
  • Experience working closely with shop floor personnel to solve issues (tooling, machines, etc.) as they arise.
