Job summary

ReLogic Research in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for CNC machining to design and optimize aerospace components. You will develop machining plans, set up strategies, and determine tooling and machine allocations with direct collaboration from machinists and programmers.

The role emphasizes first article inspection, production readiness, and process documentation, with AS9100D context and up to ~10% travel. A Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.
• 7+ years of CNC machining manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or defense environments.
• Aerospace machining experience strongly preferred.
• Strong experience with multi-axis CNC machining (3/4/5-axis preferred).
• Experience with Mazak equipment preferred.
• Strong understanding of setup planning, fixturing and workholding, GD&T, tolerancing, machining strategy, and process routing.
• Ability to read engineering prints and independently develop machining plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop machining process plans for aerospace components and determine optimal operation sequence.
• Create setup sheets and routing instructions; define datums and manufacturing strategy.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers and machinists to prove out jobs and select machines.
• Recommend tooling, workholding strategies, and process improvements to reduce setup times.
• Support first article inspection and production transfer to ensure readiness.
• Drive cross-functional improvements to improve throughput, quality, and cycle efficiency.
