Job summary
Aerotek is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist and Programmer in Columbia, TN. The role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills and lathes, reading blueprints, and ensuring parts meet tight tolerances in a fast-paced shop.
Two shifts available. Contract to Hire. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and overtime opportunities in a traditional machine shop environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC setup and operation experience.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and GD&T.
- Skilled in CNC programming for production machining.
- Experience with HAAS and Okuma controls is preferred.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools for inspection.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce parts to specification.
- Program CNC machines to meet production and quality requirements.
- Perform complete machine setups including tools, fixtures, and workholding.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine machining needs.
- Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Operate HAAS and Okuma equipment and optimize performance.
- Monitor operations, troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and document adjustments.
