Job summary

Observable Space in Los Angeles seeks an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer for prototyping and low-volume production of precision optical components. You will program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC machines, interpret CAD drawings, and verify parts with metrology.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in CNC machining, strong CAM skills (Mastercam/Fusion 360), GD&T proficiency, and a track record delivering high-tolerance parts for aerospace or space systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on CNC machining in precision prototyping.
• Ability to program from CAD models and drawings.
• Proficient in GD&T and first-article inspection.
• Experience with aerospace/space components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate 3- to 5-axis CNC machines.
• Interpret CAD drawings and GD&T to manufacture parts.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturability.
