Job summary

Space Kinetic in El Segundo, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a contract role supporting rapid prototyping of our space-grade hardware. You will program, setup, and operate 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and mill-turn machines, using Mastercam to iterate designs toward flight-ready components.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in machining, strong problem-solving and leadership, and can work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a machinist with CNC experience.
• Proficient in Mastercam or similar CAM software.
• Experience with 3- and 5-axis machines preferred.
• Ability to set up parts and maintain aerospace tolerances.
• Proven record of leading machinists.
• Security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble parts for rapid prototyping.
• Generate CAM programs and support engineering toward flight prototypes.
• Set up and operate Okuma Multus B300 Millturn, Genos M560V-5AX, and Genos M660 CNC machines.
• Ensure tight tolerances per aerospace specs.
• Mentor machinists and contribute to milestones.
