Job summary

You will interpret engineering drawings with GD&T, select tooling and speeds/feeds, and collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes, reduce cycle times, and ensure first-pass quality in high-precision manufacturing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years CNC programming and machining experience.
• Proficiency with CAM software: GibbsCAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, Esprit.
• Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC operation.
• Ability to read drawings and apply GD&T.
• Experience with glass, metals, composites, plastics machining.
• Troubleshooting machining and programming issues.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for 3- and 5-axis milling.
• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specs.
• Select tools, speeds/feeds, and fixturing strategies.
• Develop setup sheets and machining documentation.
• Run simulations to validate toolpaths and prevent collisions.
• Improve processes to reduce cycle time, scrap, and tool wear.
• Support machinists during setups and first-article approvals.
• Set up and run prototype and early production.
• Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability improvements.
• Maintain CAD/CAM files and revision control.
