Job summary

AlpHa Measurement Solutions in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Machinist / Programmer to program, set up and operate CNC machines, including Mazak multi-spindle, Omni gang tool machines and Haas mills. You will also mentor junior machinists and contribute to 5S and continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints/CAD-CAM, developing setup sheets, adjusting programs for issues, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications with precision inspection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Post-secondary certificates for CNC training after high school.
• Previous production machining experience.
• Programming in Mazatrol and G-code; CAD/CAM software knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate computer-controlled machines (Mazak, Haas).
• Build set-up sheets to improve efficiency for future runs.
• Review specifications and CAD/CAM data to determine operations.
• Transfer commands from computers to CNC machine modules.
• Modify programs to handle production issues and save changes.
• Maintain machines and replace worn tools.
• Measure finished parts using precision instruments to spec.
• Set up future jobs while current jobs run.
• Mentor junior machinists and support 5S/CI initiatives.
