Job summary

Fm Industries in Tempe, AZ, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist III. The role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills/lathe for production, with emphasis on precise changeovers and conformance to customer requirements.

Candidates should have extensive CNC experience and strong GD&T and measurement skills. Responsibilities include inspecting parts, monitoring tools, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years CNC experience in a manufacturing environment; OR, 2 years CNC experience with Machining Levels 1 & 2 certificates and an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing and Production Technology.
• Demonstrated ability to operate CNC machines and interpret G & M codes.
• Ability to read part drawings and apply GD&T concepts and rules.
• Ability to set up jobs independently and use measuring tools accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe or mill for production operations.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as needed.
• Manage DNC communications and download tool programs.
• Inspect and measure parts according to setup book callouts.
• Monitor and replace tools per tool life management system and document changes.
• Ensure adherence to company procedures and best machining practices.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• Comply with environmental, health and safety laws and company policy.
