Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a skilled Machinist in California to program and machine high-precision projects. You will handle Proto Trak CNC mills and lathes, read blueprints, and work closely with engineers to improve processes and quality.

You must have 3+ years of CNC experience, GD&T reading skills, and the ability to set up and verify programs while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a dynamic shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 3+ years CNC mills or lathes experience.
• Reading G-code and programming toolpaths.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
• Ability to read engineering prints and GD&T.
• Develop work holding/fixturing for quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Program and machine high precision, quick turn and recurring jobs.
• Machine raw stock and modify existing components.
• Complete machining from blueprints, verbal instructions, and models.
• Set up, operate and prove-out programs on Proto Trak CNC and other equipment.
• Review processes with engineers to improve quality and efficiency.
• Provide feedback to engineers/designers to improve parts.
