Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Machinist to program and machine high-precision parts for aerospace components. You will work with Proto Trak CNC mill and lathe machines, reading blueprints and G-code, and interfacing with engineers to optimize processes while maintaining a strong safety culture.

You will also handle setups, run multi-axis programs, and verify parts with precision measurement tools in a fast-paced shop environment. Overtime and flexible shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience running CNC mills or lathes.
• 3+ years reading G-code and programming toolpaths for CNC machines.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
• Ability to read engineering prints and GD&T."
• Experience developing workholding and fixturing for quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Program and machine high precision, quick turn projects and recurring production jobs.
• Machine raw stock, weldments, and modify existing components.
• Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings, verbal instructions, and models.
• Set up, operate, and prove-out programs on Proto Trak CNC mill/lathe and other equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers/designers to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure safety culture and adhere to company processes.
