Rocket Lab Corporation in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC machines for flight-ready hardware. The role requires reading drawings, maintaining tolerances, and collaborating with programmers to minimize defects.

The B shift runs Monday–Thursday 3:15pm–1:45am. Excellent benefits, stock purchase program, and onsite perks are offered. Must be able to work at height and in varied production environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC operation on lathe and mills.
• Demonstrated ability using Dual Spindle lathes with live tooling.
• Demonstrated ability using 5th axis turning on mills.
• Interpreting drawings and GD&T is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe and mill machines to build flight-ready hardware.
• Read and translate drawings/CAD models to ensure specs.
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions.
• Maintain tolerances with CNC programmer collaboration.
• Reduce non-conformances identified by QA/engineering.
• Suggest improvements on batch sizes, setups, tooling.
