Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist on C shift to maintain, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills to build flight-ready hardware per Rocket Lab specs. You will read drawings/CAD models, work with a CNC programmer to maintain tolerances, and suggest improvements to batch sizes, tool selection, and work instructions while meeting quality targets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience operating CNC lathes and mills.
• Live tooling and dual spindle experience.
• 5-axis CNC operation knowledge.
• Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathe and mill machines to produce flight-ready components.
• Read and translate drawings/CAD models to manufacturing work.
• Provide feedback to improve work instructions and processes.
• Collaborate with CNC programmer to maintain tight tolerances.
