Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turns to produce complex, tight-tolerance hardware for the Terran R program. This second-shift role runs Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

PT, with a 50-hour week and a 10% shift differential. You will read engineering drawings and GD&T, load tools and fixtures, troubleshoot issues with CNC programmers, and pursue process improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, mill-turns in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating multi-axis CNC machining equipment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to read complex engineering drawings.
• Experience machining tight-tolerance components and verifying with precision measurement equipment.
• Experience partnering with manufacturing engineers and CNC programmers in production or R&D.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce complex, tight-tolerance hardware.
• Execute machining operations in support of development and production schedules with safety, quality, and throughput in mind.
• Load and monitor cutting tools, vises, and fixturing for repeatable processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and process issues with CNC programmers and manufacturing engineers.
• Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, quality, cycle time, and shop capability.
