Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an on-site CNC programmer to develop and optimize programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines. You will interpret engineering drawings, select tooling and speeds/feeds, and validate programs on the shop floor to ensure production readiness.

You will troubleshoot real-time manufacturing issues, create clear work instructions, and train operators while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes and ramp up new equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience programming CNC machines (3-, 4-, and 5-axis)
• Proficiency with CAM software for CNC programming
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, speeds, and feeds
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and define machining strategies
• Experience validating CNC programs (prove-outs) and troubleshooting production issues
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
• Ability to work on-site full-time

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines
• Interpret engineering drawings and define machining approaches
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to balance precision and efficiency
• Validate programs through machine prove-outs and setup support
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues in real time
• Create and maintain clear manufacturing work instructions
• Train and support machine operators as needed
• Assist with new equipment setup and production ramp-up
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes
• Support tooling and fixture development for repeatability and performance
