Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Prototype Machinist / NC Programmer to support the EPL team. The role involves interpreting drawings/models, developing fabrication processes and generating NC code in a Build to Print environment.

Responsibilities include setting up multi-axis mills/turns, creating NC programs, fabricating fixtures, inspecting parts, and preparing hardware for testing with independent judgment.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC controls using EIA and Conversational programming including Fanuc, Mazak and HAAS.
• General Milling & Turning procedures.
• Ability to write and edit G & M Code including MDI programming.
• Cutting Tool and Holder knowledge and selection experience.
• Knowledge of Speed and Feeds for aluminum and stainless steels.
• In-process inspection using gages for quality assurance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, tool, and set up multi-axis mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines (5-axis contouring) for complex prototype hardware.
• Create and verify NC programs using CAD/CAM software to meet tight tolerances.
• Fabricate fixtures, workholding solutions and custom tooling.
• Measure and inspect machined components per engineering specs.
• Prepare hardware for test or field deployment with independent judgment.
