Job summary

Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia, PA, seeks an experienced CNC programmer to turn complex designs into production-ready programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines. You will drive machining strategy, validate programs on the shop floor, and help improve manufacturing performance from prototype through full-rate production.

The role requires strong CAM skills, fixture and tooling knowledge, and the ability to work on-site in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years programming CNC machines (3-, 4-, 5-axis).
• Proficient with CAM software for CNC programming.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and define machining strategies.
• Experience validating CNC programs and troubleshooting production issues.
• Clear communication and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work on-site full-time.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines.
• Interpret drawings and define machining approaches.
• Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to balance precision and efficiency.
• Validate programs through machine prove-outs and setup support.
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues in real time.
• Create and maintain clear manufacturing work instructions.
• Train and support machine operators as needed.
• Assist with new equipment setup and production ramp-up.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes.
• Support tooling and fixture development for repeatability and performance.
