Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Setup/Operator for 1st or 2nd shift in our metal fabrication facility in Illinois. You will set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components, interpret blueprints, GD&T, and routings, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

The role requires at least 5 years of CNC lathe setup/operation experience, proficiency with inspection tools like micrometers and calipers, and the ability to read blueprints and calculate speeds/feeds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of CNC lathe setup and operating experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers).
• Capable of calculating speeds and feeds for various materials.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances (±0.0005).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T to plan machining operations.
• Perform complete machine setups with workholding and tooling.
• Calculate speeds and feeds for different materials.
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and inspection tools.
• Monitor operations and adjust controls to maintain quality.
