Job summary

Orbit Machining Company in Illinois is seeking a CNC Machinist for our Lathe Department on 1st and 2nd shift. You will operate CNC lathes, read blueprints, set up tooling, and produce parts to exact tolerances while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

You will translate drawings into machine commands, perform test runs, monitor quality, and collaborate with other machinists to complete high-volume production.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC operator.
• Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls.
• Preferred experience with Mazak Multiplex or Mori Seiki multitask machines with live tools.
• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling and precision measurement tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and match final products to drafts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform drilling, milling, and other tasks.
• Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand specifications.
• Translate instructions into computer commands for correct functions.
• Load raw materials and parts onto machines and run test cycles.
• Set machines for full cycles to manufacture large quantities, supervise, and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished parts and compare with requirements for quality.
• Maintain machinery and ensure daily functionality.
