Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Irvine, CA is seeking a CNC lathe operator for prototype-to-production manufacturing. You will read and interpret blueprints, set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, and coordinate with vendors for heat treating, plating, and tooling.

The role requires 6–8 years in CNC lathe operation, tool design experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while mentoring newer operators and developing standard manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Y14.5 Blueprint Interpretation.
• 6-8 years minimum in CNC lathe operation and set-up.
• Knowledge of machine sequence of operations and tool selection.
• Must have tool design experience.
• Fast-paced work environment; ability to think on your feet.
• Parts testing and troubleshooting background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC lathe and other shop equipment.
• Interpret complex blueprints and apply to set-up and operation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of materials and process selection.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for heat treating, plating, and tooling.
• Mentor and train new machine operators and assemblers.
• Develop manufacturing processes that become SOPs.
