Job summary

Accelera Staffing is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to install, diagnose, and service advanced CNC machinery across client sites and the Rockford headquarters. You will lead diagnostics, alignments, and commissioning while supporting internal projects.

The role requires 4+ years in CNC maintenance or field service, with travel up to 85%. Strong electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance or field service.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex manufacturing equipment.
• Proficiency in navigating CNC control interfaces to review diagnostics and parameters.
• Ability to trace faults within PLC and servo drive systems.
• Ability to read fluid diagrams, electrical schematics and engineering prints.
• Experience with precision diagnostic tools and calibration equipment.
• Strong computer literacy and office software proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair CNC systems to ensure reliable production output.
• Analyze electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to resolve issues.
• Perform diagnostics on servo, motion control, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure machine precision through leveling, alignment, and geometry checks.
• Restore functionality to mechanical components like spindles and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot open-loop and closed-loop CNC control architectures.
• Calibrate and perform geometric corrections to improve accuracy.
• Support 5-axis functionality and Traori applications where applicable.
• Maintain tool management systems and automatic tool changers.
• Use laser equipment to verify geometry and positioning accuracy.
• Manage commissioning and final acceptance testing with clients.
• Provide training to clients on operation and maintenance best practices.
• Mentor junior service staff and contribute to team growth.
• Maintain service records and generate detailed technical reports.
