Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks a skilled CMM Programmer/Inspector to support prototype development in the SWORD Prototype Group. You will plan, program, and execute inspection methods for hardware, using CMM and related systems to verify dimensions and tolerances.

This fast-moving environment values ownership, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to meet ambitious aerospace goals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years in dimensional inspection of aerospace components or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years in CMM programming and operation.
• A minimum of 7 years in high-mix, low-volume machining environment.
• Experience bridging design intent with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 quality systems.
• Excellent communication skills and precision measurement discipline.
• Experience with tight-tolerance, high-value hardware.

Responsibilities

• Provide actionable inspection feedback to design, engineering, and manufacturing across the product lifecycle.
• Prepare, program, setup, and execute inspection plans using CMM and related systems.
• Manage equipment calibration and maintain configuration control on files and records.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections; document non-conformances.
• Provide dimensional data feedback to machinists and engineers.
