Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a seasoned Systems Engineer for a remote position supporting VA environments. You will manage large-scale cloud systems, automate with IaC, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain security and reliability.

8+ years in production systems and strong AWS/Azure, Linux/Windows, and CI/CD experience are required. U.S. citizenship with Public Trust clearance is specified. This is a 100% U.S.-based remote role with strict security screening.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field in production environments.
• Strong track record managing large-scale production systems.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows OS.
• Experience with automation and IaC tooling.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Follow standard practices and procedures for data analysis.
• Detect, isolate, document, and rapidly report system outages and recoveries.
• Document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools.
• Work with customers on day-to-day activities and escalations as needed.
• Maintain computing infrastructure and inventory, ensure VA security compliance.
• Provide training and documentation as assigned.
