Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking an experienced systems engineer for a full-time, remote role supporting VA cloud environments. The position focuses on high-level operational tasks, troubleshooting, and incident response across Linux/Windows platforms, with emphasis on AWS/Azure, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.

A security-conscious mindset and strong collaboration skills are essential. The role requires 8+ years in production systems, 3+ years with SQL queries and monitoring, and US citizenship

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, especially production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring.
• Citizenship requires U.S. work authorization for this opportunity.
• Experience with AWS/Azure cloud services and large-scale production systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Monitor, document, and report system outages and perform recovery tasks.
• Maintain and install computing infrastructure and assets.
• Ensure VA security policies and compliance are followed.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations.
