Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Cloud Streaming Game Services team. You will design and build server-side software powering a globally distributed cloud platform, with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities include developing Kubernetes controllers, contributing to design documents, and collaborating with SRE and Platform teams to deliver production-grade services.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience designing, implementing, and operating production software systems

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software powering the globally distributed PlayStation Cloud Streaming infrastructure
• Build Kubernetes controllers, operators, and system services powering infrastructure lifecycle management and orchestration
• Own features from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
• Partner with SRE, Test and Platform Engineering to deliver reliable production services
• Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on reliability and performance
• Contribute to architecture discussions, technical design documents, and engineering standards
• Effectively communicate technical approaches, project status, risks, estimates, and dependencies
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate design, implementation, documentation, and debugging
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and automation opportunities that improve engineering velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency
