Job summary

Pega is seeking a Senior Principal Systems and Storage Engineer to lead cloud and infrastructure operations across AWS and on-prem environments. The role emphasizes cost awareness, governance, and scalable design, with hands-on provisioning and incident support in a hybrid setup.

Based in Waltham, MA, the engineer will collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure reliable systems, strong governance, and cost-efficient operations for cloud and data center environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in direct cloud operations.
• 5+ years of experience in systems, storage and infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture services and cost models.
• Experience supporting hybrid environments (cloud + data centers).
• Hands-on data center operations and vendor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation following AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
• Hands-on AWS execution and cost impact analysis.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient infrastructure architectures.
• Perform provisioning, scripting, or deployment work.
• Own cloud cost analysis and identify optimization opportunities.
• Drive continuous cost improvement to manage infrastructure spend.
• Provide senior operational oversight across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Support incident response and escalation and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate data center operations and vendor dispatch for facilities issues.
• Maintain and improve operational documentation, standards, and governance processes.
• Support AWS in all capacities.
