Job summary

Referment is partnering with an established investment management firm to hire a Cloud Engineer responsible for production compute infrastructure. The role combines hands-on platform engineering with operational ownership, focusing on hybrid grid computing and extending on-prem capacity into AWS, GCP, and Azure.

You will design, build and operate the cloud infrastructure, improve Linux compute reliability, develop automation tooling, and ensure secure-by-default practices.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of infrastructure or software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Strong Linux skills in a hybrid environment.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Solid grounding in cloud security fundamentals.
• Strong communication, organization and judgement.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate hybrid grid-computing infrastructure across multiple clouds.
• Improve reliability and performance of Linux-based compute platforms.
• Develop tooling and automation to simplify cloud capabilities for engineers.
• Own cloud-platform observability and participate in an incident rotation.
• Partner with technologists to identify cloud opportunities and drive adoption.
• Apply secure-by-default principles throughout platform design and delivery.
