Job summary

IO Connect Services is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, and scale production services across data centers. You’ll write automation for massive-scale infrastructure and partner with development teams to ensure reliable, scalable platforms from the ground up.

Join a cross-functional team, troubleshoot incidents, contribute to postmortems, and help implement pipelines with QA for smooth deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
• Knowledge of IaC technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes cluster creation and management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud; Azure VM and VNet configuration.
• Knowledge of design patterns (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
• Knowledge in CI/CD.
• Scripting knowledge with PowerShell.
• Ability to program in Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, or JavaScript.
• Experience with distributed storage (NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3) and resource managers (Kubernetes, Mesos, Yarn).
• Proactive approach to identifying problems, bottlenecks, and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and scale production services and data-center infrastructure.
• Enhance software architecture for scalability, reliability, capacity, and performance.
• Write automation code for provisioning and operating infrastructure at massive scale.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications fit the infrastructure from ground up.
• Work with QA to build pipelines and automation for deployment to production.
• Troubleshoot incidents, formulate theories, test hypotheses, and identify root causes.
• Write postmortems and remediation recommendations.
• Monitor for bad trends and respond to system alerts to restore normal operation.
• Author and update documentation of specifications, systems, and procedures.
• Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System.
