Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to act as the senior client-facing technology leader for the Cloud Solutions team. You will partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop solution strategies, and drive complex cloud, application, and technology initiatives from discovery to deployment and operational transition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8 years of related experience in solution architecture or consulting.
• Experience delivering cloud solutions in Azure and hybrid environments.
• Experience implementing and integrating enterprise SaaS, COTS, and cloud applications.
• Experience with digital transformation, cloud migration, modernization, or technology enablement initiatives.
• Proficiency in DevOps practices, IaC, CI/CD, and automation frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms, APIs, identity solutions, and data services.
• Ability to coordinate vendor evaluations, POCs, and solution assessments.
• Experience in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) domains is a plus.
• Familiarity with GIS, HPC, or engineering toolchains is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement activities, including discovery, requirements gathering, workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into practical, scalable technology solutions.
• Support the full solution lifecycle from implementation to operations.
• Develop strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans for cloud initiatives.
• Lead complex engagements from concept through deployment and transition.
• Collaborate with leaders, vendors, and delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership to architects and engineers across the lifecycle.
• Evaluate options and recommend cost-effective solutions with long-term support.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
• Lead vendor evaluations and proof-of-concept initiatives.
• Work with Cloud Center of Excellence to leverage standards and services.
• Drive accountability for delivery outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Support portfolio planning and demand management.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and accelerate timelines.
