Job summary

CDM Smith seeks a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to serve as the senior technical partner for client engagements, guiding cloud, application, and technology initiatives from discovery through deployment.

You will lead solution discovery, requirements analysis, and implementation planning, translating business needs into scalable designs while coordinating with vendors and delivery teams to ensure value, security, and long-term supportability.

Qualifications

• Experience in solution architecture, consulting, or customer-facing technology roles.
• Leading complex cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Gathering requirements from business leaders and translating strategic objectives into practical solutions.
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud solution architecture.
• Knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture principles.
• Understanding enterprise networking concepts including DNS, routing, firewalls, and hybrid architectures.
• Experience designing relational and non-relational data architectures.
• Experience with Linux-based operating systems and enterprise workloads.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, and APIs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical advisor to business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities, including solution discovery and workshops.
• Translate business needs into scalable, practical technology solutions.
• Guide solution lifecycle from concept through deployment and operational transition.
• Collaborate with vendors and delivery teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to Solution Architects, Engineers, and delivery teams.
• Evaluate options and mitigate risks to deliver value and cost efficiency.
• Drive adoption of technology solutions and enterprise standards.
• Support portfolio planning and demand management.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and accelerate timelines.
