Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect in the United States to partner with business stakeholders, define cloud strategies, and drive complex technology initiatives from discovery through deployment and transition.

You will collaborate with delivery teams, vendors, and the Cloud Center of Excellence to ensure solutions align with business goals and enterprise standards, delivering measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 8 years of related cloud architecture and delivery experience.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services, cloud architecture, security concepts.
• Working knowledge of AWS and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of enterprise networking and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases and data architectures.
• Proficiency with Linux-based environments and enterprise apps.
• Excellent communication and influence skills.
• Domestic or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical advisor to business stakeholders.
• Lead client engagement activities from discovery to business case.
• Translate needs into scalable, practical technology solutions.
• Support full solution lifecycle including deployment and transition.
• Develop roadmaps and delivery plans for cloud initiatives.
• Lead complex engagements from concept to deployment and transition.
• Collaborate with vendors, delivery teams, and the Cloud Center of Excellence.
• Provide guidance to Solution Architects and engineers.
• Evaluate options based on value, cost, risk, and supportability.
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies for delivery projects.
• Lead vendor evaluations, PoC initiatives, and technology assessments.
• Align solutions with platform standards and enterprise goals.
• Drive adoption and accountability for delivery outcomes.
• Support portfolio planning and demand management.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes and reuse.
