Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer at Fort Meade, MD to develop and enhance large-scale Big-Data Cloud systems. You will contribute across back-end processing, analytics, and indexing, leveraging Java and Hadoop ecosystems to deliver scalable cloud solutions.

The role requires Cloud/IR experience, strong Java skills, and expertise in distributed computing, with TS/SCI – Polygraph clearance as a prerequisite for employment.

Qualifications

• Two years of Cloud and/or Distributed Computing Information Retrieval experience.
• One year of experience with Cloud BigTable and Cloud Distributed File System implementations.
• One year of experience with MapReduce analytics and Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
• Experience architecting Cloud Computing solutions and debugging cloud-based distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements.
• Contribute to all stages of back-end processing, analysis, and indexing.
• Provide input on design, hardware/software trade-offs, and reuse of COTS/GOTS.
• Review, test, and document software components for adherence to design requirements.
