Job summary

Akina, Inc. in Fort Meade, Maryland seeks a Software Engineer 2 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems for analytics and real‑time processing.

You will work both independently and in teams to implement MDAT in Java/Python on AWS, test across levels, and partner with system engineers in an agile environment. The role requires a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and offers a strong compensation package, a large PTO allotment, and generous healthcare and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Implementation of the MDAT system in Java/Python using AWS services.
• Implementation of automated tests at functional and systems levels.
• Partnership with System engineers to execute the agile process.
• Prototyping of solution space in the AWS cloud.
• Seven years’ SWE experience or substitution option as described.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results.
• Resolves software problem reports and participates in system design trade-offs.
• Collaborates with hardware/software teams and considers COTS/GOTS usage.
