Job summary

Staffed4U in Fort Meade, MD, is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer III to develop, enhance, and maintain mission-focused software systems. The role emphasizes cloud and distributed computing, scalable data processing, and real-time analytics.

Ideal candidates bring strong software engineering experience across Java, C++, or Python, with experience in distributed systems and RESTful services. This onsite role offers a comprehensive compensation package and TS/SCI security requirements.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Onsite five days per week.
• 7+ years of programming experience in Java, C++, or Python (last 10 years).
• 5+ years designing and developing apps in Windows or UNIX/Linux.
• 1 year with databases such as Accumulo, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL.
• 1 year with distributed batch/stream processing (e.g., Spark, Flink, Beam).
• 1 year with distributed file/object storage (S3, HDFS, ADLS).
• 2+ years OO design experience; 6 months cloud dev (K8s/AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Provide cloud software R&D across requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, testing, validation and issue resolution.
• Design, implement, and test new capabilities for Apache Accumulo to support large-scale repositories.
• Conduct Apache Accumulo training sessions with hands-on config and coding exercises.
• Develop web-based interfaces for searching and presenting operational data.
• Develop REST-based APIs for content and metadata repositories.
• Design and implement analytics algorithms on petabyte-scale data.
• Apply advanced parallel programming techniques to analytics workloads.
• Develop, test, and prepare mission-relevant analytics for secure repositories.
