Job summary

Peraton seeks a Cloud Software Engineer in Laurel, MD to join our Cyber Intelligence team. You will design, implement, and integrate cloud-based solutions using AWS, Java, and C/C++, with a strong Linux/UNIX foundation and Hadoop ecosystem experience.

You will contribute to distributed, secure software across large compute clusters. The role requires 5+ years of software development experience, cloud certifications, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS or related field; equivalent to 2 years experience acceptable.
• 5+ years in software development/engineering incl. analysis, development, testing and maintenance.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Developer/ML or CKAD.
• Min 5 years in software development incl. requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, testing.
• 4+ years with Java, C, or C++.
• Experience with NoSQL (HBase/Accumulo/BigTable) and distributed systems.
• Experience with MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Pig; HDFS; JSON/BSON; RESTful services.
• At least 3 years UNIX/Linux (Red Hat 3-5); OO design; OSS/COTS integration; testing and documentation.
• Two of: cloud deployment, big-data scalability, analytics, ontologies/docs, diverse schemas.
