Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel, MD. You will build cloud-native services on AWS, leveraging AI/ML capabilities and large-scale compute clusters to support national security missions.

The role requires strong Java development, Python scripting, Kubernetes, IaC, and security-conscious design. We value hands-on experience with NoSQL, Hadoop ecosystems, and RESTful services, plus active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent experience may apply.
• 5+ years in software development/engineering with lifecycle responsibilities.
• Cloud Developer Certifications: AWS Developer-Associate or AWS ML-Associate/Specialty, CKAD, or AWS DevOps Engineer.
• 5 years in software development with requirements analysis, installation, integration, testing and maintenance.
• 4+ years in Java, C, or C++ for distributed systems.
• Experience with NoSQL distributed stores (HBase/Accumulo/BigTable).
• MapReduce/Hadoop/Hive/Pig experience and HDFS exposure.
• RESTful services development; UNIX/Linux (RedHat) development experience.
• OSS/FOSS integration experience; technical writing and design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud software on AWS for national security missions.
• Collaborate on cyber and AI/ML capabilities on large compute clusters.
• Provide requirements analysis, development, installation, integration, testing, and sustainment.
• Ensure cloud security principles and compliance in design and delivery.
