Job summary

Peraton in Laurel, MD seeks a Software Engineer Level 3 to own the full SDLC for large-scale cloud applications. You will design, develop, and deploy robust software systems, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver mission-critical solutions.

The role emphasizes end-to-end software development using Java, C, C++, and Unix/Linux (Red Hat), with a focus on scalable distributed computing and strong technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
• 20+ years of experience as a SWE on programs of similar scope.
• 8+ years software development across the full SDLC.
• Experience with high-level languages (Java, C, C++).
• Experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Red Hat) environments.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Engineering: deliver end-to-end software services including requirements analysis, installation, evaluation, and issue resolution.
• System Enhancement: diagnose complex technical issues and develop sustainable enhancements.
• Distributed Computing: design and implement solutions using massively parallel computation and NoSQL architectures.
• Integration & Testing: develop test plans and scripts; integrate and extend FOSS/COTS products.
• Technical Documentation: generate high-quality documents, ontologies, and data models.
• Testing & Deployment: write tests, implement CI/CD pipelines, deploy web applications.
• Collaboration: work with data scientists, engineers, and product managers; communicate clearly.
