Job summary

Peraton seeks a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join a large, complex product development team in Laurel, MD. The role focuses on agile software design for products on large-scale compute clusters, including design, testing, optimization, and sustainment.

You will perform requirements analysis, software design, installation, and integration with a high degree of independence, guiding junior engineers and developing solutions that extend COTS/GOTS products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED with 8 years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree can substitute 2 years of experience; Master's degree can substitute 4 years.
• Experience with Java, C, or C++.
• Experience in UNIX/Linux environments (RedHat-based).
• Experience in software integration and testing, incl. test plans and scripts.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• One of the following certifications: AWS Dev/Developer Associate, AWS DevOps, CKAD, or ML certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis, software design, development, installation, integration, testing, and maintenance.
• Provide guidance to junior programmers/analysts as required.
• Develop solutions integrating COTS or GOTS products and evaluate project needs.
• Create/review SOPs, documentation, and test cases; conduct code reviews.
