Job summary

Axon is seeking a Principal Security Operations Engineer to design and scale secure, reliable cloud infrastructure. You will own security tooling, guardrails, and automated controls across CI/CD pipelines, with emphasis on Kubernetes and multi-cloud (AWS/Azure) environments.

You will mentor engineers, improve security observability, and lead high-impact incidents while partnering with SRE, Platform Engineering, and Product Security teams. US citizenship is required for this role.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in security engineering, platform engineering, or related roles.
• Expert-level Kubernetes experience with production-scale environments.
• Strong AWS and/or Azure security architecture and IaC skills.
• Proficiency in Go or Python and building internal security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy for securing Axon’s cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, AWS/Azure).
• Lead architectural reviews of Kubernetes platforms and implement scalable security solutions.
• Modernize security apps deployment with automated CI/CD controls and IaC.
• Design and implement security guardrails across CI/CD and developer workflows.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across security, platform, and infra teams.
• Drive security observability, telemetry, and alerting across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Lead incident response, RCA, and durable remediation for high-impact security events.
