Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is recruiting a Senior Associate – Cloud Security Architecture to strengthen our Global Cyber Risk Services. You will design, assess, and strengthen cloud security across multi-cloud and hybrid environments, translating findings into prioritized roadmaps for CISOs, cloud engineers, and deal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field and about 4–7 years of relevant experience in cloud security or cloud architecture
• At least one active professional-level cloud certification (AWS/Azure/GCP) required
• Hands-on experience securing and assessing production workloads in at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong working knowledge of cloud IAM, networking and segmentation, encryption and key management, logging and monitoring, and shared-responsibility models
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices and tooling (Terraform, CI/CD security, container/Kubernetes security)
• Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2 and ability to map architecture decisions to governance, risk and compliance (GRC) requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud security architecture reviews and cloud configuration assessments across major cloud platforms
• Design and assess zero trust architectures and create phased adoption roadmaps
• Lead security tooling rationalization and consolidation reviews and map capabilities to risk
• Assess IAM, network segmentation, data protection, encryption, key management, logging, and secrets management across multi-cloud environments
• Design target-state cloud security architectures, including secure landing zones and guardrails
• Review IaC and CI/CD pipelines, container/kubernetes security to identify security gaps and improvements
• Map cloud security controls to regulatory frameworks and advise on compliance
• Support M&A due diligence, carve-outs, and post-close integration related to cloud estates
• Contribute to cloud assessment methodologies and mentor junior team members
