Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate – Cloud Security Architecture to drive cloud security initiatives across multiple platforms. You will design, assess, and strengthen security for cloud and hybrid environments, partnering with CISOs, cloud engineers, and deal teams to translate findings into actionable roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Cybersecurity or related field required
• 4–7 years of cloud security/architecture experience preferred
• Active cloud certifications required (AWS/Azure/GCP) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Lead cloud security architecture reviews across AWS, Azure, and GCP against CIS/CIS Controls and NIST frameworks
• Design and assess zero-trust architectures and maturity roadmaps
• Perform security tools rationalization and consolidation to optimize architecture
• Assess IAM, network segmentation, data protection, encryption, key management, logging and monitoring
• Develop target-state cloud security architectures including secure landing zones and guardrails
• Review infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and CI/CD pipelines for security gaps
• Map cloud controls to compliance requirements (NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, HIPAA)
• Evaluate CSPM/CNAPP and cloud workload protection, advising on tool selection
• Assess AI/ML workloads security including data pipelines and access control
• Support cloud-related incident response and resilience efforts and produce actionable deliverables
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to methodologies and playbooks
