Job summary
Bloomberg is seeking a Cloud Stability engineer to help maintain and improve the Bloomberg Cloud Compute (BCC) platform used by hundreds of Bloomberg teams. You will work on Python-based services, integrate with OpenStack APIs, and drive CI/CD for the cloud platform while focusing on reliability, capacity planning, and performance forecasting.
You will collaborate across teams, contribute to upstream projects, and gain experience in open source governance, while expanding expertise in cloud
Qualifications
- 4+ years of software development experience (Python or another object-oriented language).
- Willingness to learn new skills and cloud technology.
- BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field.
Responsibilities
- Work with the OpenStack API and interface with other Compute-Storage teams.
- Be responsible for CI/CD of the Bloomberg Cloud Compute platform.
- Contribute to adding intelligence to predicting performance issues caused by noisy neighbors.
- Participate in predictive capacity planning and management of the cloud compute platform.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, task refinement.
