Job summary

Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC is seeking a senior Cloud Engineer to design, provision, and govern complex cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure. You will lead the design and development of cloud services, automate provisioning with IaC, and mentor teammates while ensuring secure, scalable deployments.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud engineering, strong scripting, and the ability to drive migrations and optimize cloud cost/performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4-years).
• 5-7+ years of relevant work experience.
• 5+ years engineering and integration experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
• 2+ years' experience with infrastructure as code technologies such as CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM templates.
• Strong analytical and customer service abilities.
• High reasoning aptitude and ability to quickly understand complex operating environments.
• Ability to coach and mentor experienced engineering staff.
• Ability to communicate and articulate technical information across various organizational levels.
• Strong thought leadership abilities and a highly innovative problem solver.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of cloud services that comply with the organization's security and technology standards.
• Act as product owner for cloud services owned by the Cloud Engineering team.
• Automate provisioning of cloud services using infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation Templates, Azure Resource Manager Templates) and GitOps techniques.
• Document detailed service designs, usage, and troubleshooting processes for peers and consumers.
• Plan and execute complex cloud migrations and optimize cost and performance.
