Job summary

Nightwing is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to lead operation, development, and optimization of cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure. You will own secure, scalable cloud designs and mentor engineers while supporting 20+ applications across three networks. Ideal candidates have 6–10+ years in IT, strong Linux/Windows administration, IaC, and CI/CD experience, plus U.S.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of IT experience in operations, security, development, or DevOps in hybrid or cloud environments.
• 4+ years Linux system administration in production environments; OS image creation and hardening.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and design of core cloud platform capabilities in AWS GovCloud and Azure across three networks.
• Use and develop automation to provision servers, services, apps, and security controls (Ansible, Terraform, Packer, GitLab CI/CD).
• Set up and maintain applications in AWS GovCloud and commercial AWS; define patterns for multi-team environments.
• Manage AWS resources (VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Control Tower, LZA) at scale with cost and security in mind.
• Lead technical projects end-to-end and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule.
• Establish disaster recovery and business continuity practices across server, network, and security designs.
• Manage Linux and Windows servers with logging, monitoring, patching, and maintenance; select tools.
• Provide senior-level IT operations support for security monitoring, compliance, and auditing tools.
• Partner with security/compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements and audits.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers; perform design/code reviews and share cloud best practices.
• Contribute to cloud platform roadmap and strategy to modernize and improve efficiency.
