Job summary

Nightwing Information Technology is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to operate, develop, and improve our AWS GovCloud and Azure-based cloud infrastructure. You’ll support 20+ applications across three networks, building secure, scalable, and cost-optimized environments for development and operations teams.

You will automate provisioning and configuration, lead technical projects, and ensure disaster recovery and security best practices across Linux and Windows servers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in IT (Operations, Security, or Development) or DevOps.
• 4+ years Linux System Administration experience.
• Familiar with Windows System Administration.
• 1+ years networking (TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls).
• 1+ years running services in AWS or another cloud (Azure).
• Architecting new services using AWS resources.
• Troubleshooting resources (Load balancers, autoscaling, security groups).
• Familiar with IaC automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with source code management of code/scripts used for automation (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of accountability to meet deadlines and sprint goals.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Use and develop automation (Ansible roles, Terraform, Packer, GitLab CI/CD) to provision servers and security controls.
• Setup and maintain applications in AWS GovCloud and commercial environments.
• Manage AWS resources like VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Control Tower.
• Lead technical projects with teams to plan, execute, and deliver features.
• Follow DR/BC practices in server, network, and security design.
• Manage Linux and Windows servers with logging, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Provide IT operations support for security monitoring, compliance, and auditing tools.
